About T. French & Co. Consultants
Our firm provides consulting services to individuals and entities across many sectors of society and the business world. Other than having a strong desire to help others in making important and interesting decisions, we have no agenda or political tilt.
Tom began his banking career in commercial banking as a credit analyst and then as a corporate loan officer for a large federally chartered US bank based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He began his over fifty-year corporate legal career in Palo Alto, California, in a technology-focused law firm that grew organically very quickly and then through merger and combination to become one of the top ten largest law firms in the world. He served as a corporate lawyer for founders, investors, startups and emerging tech companies. He continues as a member in good standing (Inactive status) of the California State Bar.
In 2024, our firm was repositioned and streamlined to limit its services to exclusively providing consulting work not involving the the practice of law. Our name was changed from T. French & Co. Lawyers to T. French & Co. Consultants.
Among some of the honors and designations Tom has received during his legal career was being named one of Northern California’s Top 100 Super Lawyers, as designated by both American Lawyer Magazine, and by San Francisco Magazine. Global Counsel 3000 listed Tom as a Recommended Company and Corporate Transaction Attorney. San Jose Magazine listed Tom as one of Silicon Valley’s Best Lawyers. Martindale-Hubbard, the venerable rating service to the U.S. legal profession, has rated Tom as AV Preeminent, its highest rating.
Tom graduated cum laude from Indiana University’s McKinney School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of its law review.
Some examples of projects our firm has recently worked on:
Assisting prominent Silicon Valley real estate broker with assembling two large residential properties in the Stanford hills for listing and marketing of the combined compound to A-listed global clients and local buyers seeking maximum security and privacy and yet proximity to the thriving Silicon Valley ecosystem and cultural offerings.
Devising, on a pro bono basis, a financial exit strategy to a low-income homeowner facing multiple legal and financial hurdles, structured as a sale/lease of her home to a nonprofit land trust with a reservation for life by the owner of her residential rights.
Providing protocol expertise concerning jumbo international letters of credit to a Silicon Valley manufacturer of large-scale battery supply technology and an inventory of completed units, involving purchasers, with a nine-figure cash purchase amount, based in China, the British Virgin Islands and The United Arab Emirates.
